At the age of 15 he became an optician-technician.
At the age of 18 he entered the Workers' Training Association.
1933 c.: member of Montázs-group - they made graphical montage that were illegally distributed (Le a Bedóval!...)
1934: arrested
He belongs to Lajos Kassák's work circle. His working photos appear in the left-hand press and abroad.
During World War II, he goes to an internment camp. He captured the life of the Garany camp in a series of photos. He was in Auschwitz.
1945: MAFIRT reporter, 1947: Picture and Press Division, then he became the head of photography column
1949: Magyar Nap
from 1950: Photographer of Szabad Nép
1954: Photojournalist of Szabad Föld
He was the prototype photographer of Mátyás Rákosi.
1953: imprisoned for eight months
He was a member of the Labor Guard, a chronicler of the life of the syndicate, from his foundation to death. He is a founding member of the Hungarian Association of Photographers.
1957-1959: Fotó t. newspaper editor
Until his retirement in 1972, head of the propaganda department of the Book and News Department of the Culture Foreign Trade Company.
1968-1972: Director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Prague.
He died in a car accident just a year after his retirement.
