Botta, Ferenc Cinkota, 1919. 08. 30 - 1968. 03. 07., Budapest
He was raised in an orphanage at the age of five, he attended 4 elements and 4 high school, was a good student. He wanted to be a painter, so he drew and painted in his spare time.
At the age of 14 he was given as an apprentice for a photographer in Rákospalota.
1936: he was employed as a laboratory worker at the Est Lap, and he blowed up and development the pictures of Rudolf Balogh and Károly Escher.
He studied painting at János Vaszary Free School. From 1945 he was a reporter of MAFIRT (Communist Party Photographic Service).
He was the amployee of the Hungarian Photo, then his successor, the MTI, where he was the Head of the Photo Editor from 1955 until his death. He teached at the MÚOSZ Journalist School. From 1968 he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Fotó magazine.
1956: he became a founding member of the Hungarian Association of Photographers.
1960’s: member of the Presidium of the International Journalists' Association.
He is not considered to be a innovator of form language, he is characterized by fine, tonal rich images made according to the rules of classical photography. His excellent technical knowledge, based on his lyrical form, he created fine, intimate and modernistic photography to meet the expectations of socialist realism in every respect. He was particularly sensitive to artists and artistic performances, and his best images were made in this subject area. His brother, Dénes Botta, was also a good photographer.
