He graduated from high school in Pannonhalma. He started shooting as an amateur. 1950-1953 photographed at the army. In 1954, he received a photographic worker certificate, and in the following year he took a colorful photographers' exam at MTI by Andorn Heller. In 1961, 1970, 1973 he took part in photo-specialization courses at the NSZK, thus he becoming one of the best early color photographers in Hungary. He became a member of MADOME in 1952, six years later he was recruited by the MFSZ; between 1953 and 1957 he photographed at the Capital City Company and then worked as a photographer at the Semmelweis Medical University in 1956-64. From 1964 he was a freelance advertising photographer and book illustrator, an external colleague of colorful papers and newspapers. He became known for his photos of horses, his photographs of the city and his landscapes. Since 1952, he has been a participant of domestic and international competitions, winning more than 100 prizes. He had individual exhibitions in England, Austria, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Poland and the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1973 he had a comprehensive solo exhibition in the Art Hall. His sons also chose the photographer's career.
