Abdullah Frères
Abdullah Brothers, also known as Abdullah Frères, cover three brothers. The Armenian-born brothers, Viçen (1820–1902), Hovsep (1830–1908) and Kevork, (1839–1918)became known as Turkey's founding artists for photography. Abdulmecid Sultan was the first known Ottoman ruler of whom photo was taken, after which the brothers became the official photographers of the Sultanian Sergeant in 1863. However, after the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-78, they began to cultivate a close relationship with the Russian army advancing to the Periphery of Istanbul Yeşilköy. which II. Sultan Abdülaziz did not support, and in 1879 he deprived them of the title of Royal photographer.
