The Collection of Mr. Gy. K.

As a collector and art dealer, I have had the opportunity to see a number of excellent collections in the last decades. The exhibitions arranged in my gallery and the volumes I have published - selection of works, my private collection - are meant to give an impulse; my contribution to the accomplishment of the mission to bring yet undiscovered, hidden values to favourable public notice. It soon became obvious for me that the spirituality which goes beyond the individual quality of any work of art shows only when the collection is publically presented as a whole and not just in randomly selected fragments. This extraordinarily rich, representative exhibition of the pre-war Hungarian painting also proves that it is possible to show full collections and present their spirituality, while preserving the anonymity of the owner.
