Private Opinion A/1. Con-Sufferer Art after 1945
Date:
26 October 2000 - 04 November 2000
Location:
The title of the exhibition shows how markedly the selection is. I collected for the walls of the gallery works from after World War II, to which I have a strong emotional attachement, and which in their intensity and in their quality offer a worthy continuation to the artistic movement that started in the first half of the 20th century. I tried to present the works of art from after 1945 that open into private, intimate, homely spaces and not the traditional, classic gallery pieces. The exhibition is selected from ten significant private collections and four museums. The A/1 attribute in the title refers to the fact that I have several interpretations of this periode, but this is the very first, which offers an intimate and attractive selection from an era which far from being attractive.
