Városi, Gábor Budapest, 1965
After completing his studies in elementary school, Gábor Városi (1965) continued his artistic training from 1980 to 1984 at the Secondary School of Visual Arts as a student of Zoltán Tölg-Molnár and István Gábor, where he won the Domanovszky Award and the March 15 Concept Award. In 1984, he graduated at the top of his class.
From 1985 to 1989, he continued his studies of painting at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts under the guidance of Ignác Kokas and Gábor Dienes. In 1987 he studied in Sweden on a Layota Art scholarship and exhibited his work in Stockholm. Later that year, his mentor Victor Vasarely opened his first solo exhibition at the Galerie de La Rochefoucauld in Paris. In 1987, he won first prize in a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in Belgium.
He exhibits regularly.
In the 1990s and 2000s, besides sculpture, architecture gained an important role in his life.
The Poet's Garden, the opening of which was held in 2022, is the pinnacle of Városi’s art in joining painting, sculpture and architecture
