1954: my mineral-collection expands, I buy university textbook Geology I.
1959: I start painting. First masters: Imre Magyarász, Gyula Máté, Gyula Sugár, my friends until their death.
1960: enrolled in Dési Huber evening art school.
1962-67: Academy of Applied Arts, interior design. Professors: György Szrogh, György Jánossy, Károly Jurcsik, architects; László Szalay, structural engineer. Art instructors were János Jakuba and Dénes Gulyás.
1967: having seen my graduation work, architect József Finta invites me to his studio; we draw execution plans for Hotel Intercontinental, endlessly.
1968-69: part-time job as a decorator for Budapest Food Stores company, so in the afternoons I have time to paint.
1969: admission to Young Artists' Studio; it is good, because I felt inferior to those graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts. 11 exhibits and competitions in 1970, 15 in 1971, 18 in 1972.
Since October 1969 I am a free-lance artist.
Since then: one month every year at an artists' colony.
Incomes in the first years: advertising graphics, articles on interior decoration for "Women's Weekly", illustrations for the periodical "Teacher", and for Schoolbooks Publishing Company, 12,000 photos of peasant's house interiors, for Public Education Institute, for the research work of Kata S. Nagy.
1969: the first collective exhibition.
1970: the first one-man show in Eötvös Klub; in the next room: Géza Németh and Vladimir Péter. Design: Kata S. Nagy, opened by Endre Bálint.
1970: the first trip to the West, 110 museums and exhibitions.
1972: studio apartment (at the age of 30).
1974: the second trip to Western Europe: 160 museums and exhibitions, a visit to Felix Klee. I joined Artists' Union.
1975: a month and a half at the artists' colony of Halle, GDR.
1975-79: I teach summer art school in Zebegény. There I met Miklós Szüts, the next summer we jointly had a class.
1977: Derkovits Grant for 3 years,
since then I can make a living from my paintings.
1979-90: yoga, 34 minutes a day; while doing head-stand, my daughter's rabbit chews my beard carelessly.
1980: I nearly manage to organise Béla Gruber Museum.
1981: one-man show in Exhibition Hall. With a grant, Norway: skiing and two weeks' cruising up to the north.
Since 1984: alarm-clock at 5.24, morning prayer with the Franciscans.
Three weeks in Korea, with Kata S. Nagy.
Since 1985: I lead the catholic prayer circle "Fioretti".
1986: Munkácsy Prize.
Summer 1986: a month at the graphic artists' colony at Mátraalmás, as a guest of the Salgótarján museum. First ever etchings and engravings, 100 sheets. I managed there once more, in 1989, I was doing studio-pictures, often with additional colouring.
1987: collective exhibit in Ernst Museum: it was Szüts' idea. Participants: Ildikó Bakos, András Böröcz, El Kazovszkij, István ef. Zámbó, Miklós Szüts, Váli, Erzsébet Vojnich.
1990 and 1996: New York, major museums.
Since 1990: swimming in Lukács, 30 minutes, because thats's what I can stand without boasting.
1991-92: I teach a course at the Academy of Fine Arts, budding relationship with art students and their graphics circle "NÉMO".
1992: ten articles in the monthly "Mozgó Világ": Uccello, Tornyai and Czimra, Morandi, Mária Modok and Braque, Utrillo, Klee, Erzsébet Vaszkó, Bonnard, Menyhért Tóth and, finally, Váli.
1992: an invitation for seven painters (László Kovács, Péter Kovács, Péter Molnár, Károly Schmal, Miklós Szüts, Zoltán Tölg-Molnár, Erzsébet Vojnich): 40 pictures for Kecskemét, for a permanent contemporary exhibit in "Cifra Palota".
1992: "Diary C, 1958-1992" published by Új Mandátum.
1993: "This Cairn is Witness Today" (photo album on old Jewish cemeteries in Central Europe, with László Sáros) published by Új Mandátum.
January 6, 1994: I get a computer, with the help of Szüts.
1994-95: I teach drawing for architecture students at the Academy of Applied Arts.
December 1994: Our permanent exhibition opens in Győr, instead of Kecskemét, in the baroque building of the City Museum of Art.
October 1997: exhibition in Ernst Museum, "Váli" monograph published by Új Mandátum.
1998: I learn free-style swimming and flip turn.
April 1999 - November 2000: I put all my work on CD-ROM and the web.
