Tóth, Menyhért Szeged-Mórahalom, 1904 - 1980, Budapest
A student of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts between 1930 and 1935, after completion of his studies he returned to the village where he was born, Miske. From 1945 to 1958 he lived from agricultural labour and painting houses, so that his first solo exhibition of 1941 was not followed up an individual show for twenty-seven years. He lived a solitary, reclusive life in spite of the fact that he was a core member of the artist colony of Tokaj, of the group of painters of Baja, and one of the founders of the creative camp of Hajós. His estate was acquired by the Gallery of Kecskemét.
