Szobotka, Imre Zalaegerszeg, 1890 - 1961, Budapest
While a student at the Budapest School of Applied Arts between 1905 and 1910 he took study trips to Venice and Rome and visited Paris. He left for Transylvania in 1911 and his first solo exhibition consisted of paintings he completed there. Returning to Paris he studied at La Palette under Metzinger and Le Fauconnier. His works were shown in the Salon de Independants in 1913 and 1914. He was interned in Bretagne when the First World War began. When in Hungary again, he showed in numerous exhibitions and was a founder of KUT.
