Rafael, Győző Viktor Révkomárom, 1900 - 1981, Budapest
He studied music and medicine first, only to turn towards fine arts later, learning under the guidance of Károly Kernstok in Nyergesújfalu. Between 1921 and 1926 he attended the Academy of Applied Arts, and the Academy of Fine Arts. His master was János Vaszary. He went on a study tour to Munich in 1921, to Paris in1923, and also to Rome. He was a member of KUT and UME. From 1929 to 1940 he worked as a restorer in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. He was the restorer of Budapest's Aquincum Museum in the 1950s.
