Pirk, János Galánta, 1903 - 1989, Szentendre
Painter, graphic. He began his artistic studies at Nagybánya, as the student of Thorma János. Between 1924 and 1933 he studied at the College of Fine Arts in Budapest. His mentor was Réti István. In 1931 he went to Paris and Italy to study. He worked at Szentendre. In 1957 he received the Munkácsy prize. In 1983 he received the Meritorious artist prize. He'd been exhibiting since 1923. He exhibited at Szentendre in 1955 and 1973, in the Fényes Adolf Hall in 1956 and in the Dürer Hall in 1975.
