Papp, Aurél Érkávás, 1879 - 1960, Szatmárnémeti
Painter, graphic, sculptor, industrial artist. He began his studies at the School of Modell Drawing. His mentors were Mesterei Székely Bertalan and Aggházy Gyula. In 1904 he began to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, then at the Julian Academy of Paris. He worked as a drawing teacher at Szatmárnémeti. He frequently visited the artist colony of Nagybánya. In 1907 he began to exhibit in the Kunsthall Budapest, In the National Salon, at Nagybánya and at several transylvanian towns. In 1957 he received the Meritorious Artist award.
