Lehel, Mária Budapest, 1889 - 1973, Peveragno (Olaszország)
She studied with Károly Ferenczy and then Béla Iványi Grünwald in the artists colony of Nagybánya, between 1906 and 1914. There she met her future husband, the art writer Ferenc Lehel, in 1907. She participated in the 1911 exhibition of The Eight as an invitee,. The use of pastels became almost exclusive in her work after the First World War. She moved to Paris with her family in 1924 before settling in Genova in 1946.
