Gross-Bettelheim, Jolán Nyitra, 1900 - 1972, Budapest
From 1918 she trained under Aladár Edvi Illés and Róbert Berény at the Academy of Fine Arts and from 1919 to 1920 under Emil Orlik at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna. In the early 1920s she studied painting with Karl Hofer in Berlin, then at the Grande Chaumiére Academy in Paris. From 1925 to1955 she lived in the US, returning to Hungary in 1956.
