Deák Ébner, Lajos Pest, 1850 - 1934, Budapest
Studied in Munich from 1868 to 1873. He then went to Paris, working in Barbizon during the summers. He became the principal of the Women's Painting School in Budapest from 1887. He painted genre paintings and paintings on historical subjects; his decorative style led to commissions to complete a number of important murals (Tihany Abbey, murals of Budapest's Kunsthalle).
