Csáji, Attila 1939
Painter, sculptor, laser researcher, arts writer. He acquired an arts degree at Eszterházy Károly College in 1964. His mentors were Jakuba János, Blaskó János and Z. Gács György. In 1970 he received a scholarship from the Polish society of fine arts, and in 1973 from the Czechoslovakian society of fine arts. In 1975 he won the scholarship of the Károlyi Foundation. From the 1980s he went to the United States on several occasions with the scholarship of the Soros Foundation. He began his laser technological studies at the KFKI in Budapest, then continued to train himself in Massachusets. He's a member of the Leonardo Fine Arts Society, the International Kepes Society and the Hungarian National Colour Committee. In 1992 he became the chairman of the Szinyei Society and of the MAOE. From 1994 he worked as the president of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary's bording school. He organised his first solo exhibition in the apartment of Petri Galla Pál. From the 1960s he was amongst the organizers of the hungarian avant-garde's new wave. Founding member of the Szürenon group. He frequently participates at group exhibitions in the Hungarian National Gallery, in the Ernst Museum, and at decisive comtemporary exhibiting places. His works have also been exhibited in Paris, Madris and in the United States. He had solo exhibitions in the Hungarian National Gallery in 1977 and 1984, in the Kunsthalle Budapest in 1988 and in several american cities. He had laser presentations in the Hungarian National Gallery in 1980, in Helsinki in 1981 and in Stuttgart in 1983. His public statues can be seen in the Sculpture park of Dunaújváros, in Pöstyén and at the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport. His works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery, the Ludwig Museum, at the contemporary art gallery of Pécs, Dunaszerdahely, Seoul, Szczecin, and in several american art gallery's collection.
