Abodi Nagy, Béla Székelyszenterzsébet, 1918 - 2012, Budapest
Painter, graphic artist. In 1936-40 he studied at the Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts under Camil Ressu’s management, then, between 1940-42, he studied at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. Master of decisive effect: István Szőnyi. He settled down in Kolozsvár. He received the Romanian State Prize both in 1954 and 1955, then received the Merited Master of Arts award. He was a member of the Romanian national arts association, founded in 1941-44, and again in 1994. He was one of the founders of the Guild ‘Miklós Barabás’. Taught at the College of Fine Arts in Kolozsvár between 1949 and 1983. He was the Romanian state art consultant from 1950-65. He also designed book covers, illustrated books, has prepared a series of portraits of the classics of Hungarian literature. He appeared on a number of exhibitions in Bucharest to Prague, Berlin and Turin. Lastly he is the designer of the wall paintings of the Student Cultural Centre in Kolozsvár.
