After two years, in December 1996, he relocated his gallery to its current well-known location. Situated on the corner of Szent István Boulevard, in the legendary halls of the former Luxor Café, the representative store hosted its first auction in September 1997, quickly becoming a leading figure in Hungarian art dealing. Auctions and gallery transactions primarily focus on 20th-century modern Hungarian paintings, but the constantly changing inventory also includes antiques, 19th- and 20th-century, as well as contemporary paintings and sculptures. In the past nearly two decades, Kieselbach Gallery has organized a total of 73 painting auctions.
In addition to auction exhibitions, the gallery regularly organizes successful temporary exhibitions and, over the past years, has published large volumes on hungarian art and history. With monumental albums rewriting the history of Hungarian painting, Kieselbach fundamentally changed the perception of Hungarian visual arts. As the owner of the largest Hungarian painting photo archive, Tamás Kieselbach has contributed to the publication of over a hundred volumes, providing free access to his database containing reproductions of over 50,000 artworks.
The gallery continuously purchases and sells works by significant Hungarian painters, explores the life's work of forgotten artists, searches for artworks by Hungarian artists abroad, and, of course, welcomes and publishes any image or document considered important for Hungarian visual culture.
